OWN A PIECE OF GLADSTONE DISNEY HISTORY!! These are ONE OF A KIND colorist art/color guide pages used in the direct production of the Gladstone Comics and Comic Albums. The first example pictured here is the first page Carl Barks' "Adventure Down Under" - colored by colorist Summer Hinton and featured in the Carl Barks Library in Color - Donald Duck Adventures - Album #7. The second example is the a page from Ted Osborne & Floyd Gottfredson's "Robin Hood Adventure", featured in WDCS #613, with computer color that is hand coded by the Gladstone Staff. The third example is the fiirst page of Carl Barks' "The Swamp of No Return" from an earlier comic that was marked with color codes by colorist Susan Daigle-Leach and featured in Carl Barks Library in Color - Uncle Scrooge Adventures - Album #49. This hand-colored professional Colorist artwork will undoubtedly increase in value as the years go by, because most comics are now colored via computer - with no trace left except for a digital data file. Physical color guides are copies of the pencil and ink original artwork of a story that were assigned to the colorist, and they were then hand colored (in watercolors --- at least at Gladstone Publishing) by that colorist. Colorguides are usually about the same size as the final comic book, and many have "color codes" for the printers to follow. (See image) Computer coloring has now made hand painted colorist artwork extinct and is thus now highly collectible! The color guides are being sold in 3 catagories: Also included with each Color Guide set is a signed Certificate of Authenticity. If available, an uncirculated copy of the original comic book in which this story was published may be purchased at the price listed on the Gladstone web pages. $10 per page for original Hand-Color marked up pages (except $12 per page for Carl Barks stories), $5 per page for original Computer Color marked up computer and only $2 per page for color-code marked up pages on earlier comic pages. $50 minimum order.
